Simon:
Your links say nothing about Dawit, SILC or an international conspiracy. Bolton is an idiot, yes. North Korea are mad, yes. But the notion that North Korea and USA are joined in a conspiracy against Eritrea is just crazy. And again: It has nothing to do with Dawit.
The border conflict between Eritrea and Ethiopia is a terrible one and Eritrea deserves full support in it. But abolishing free speech and detending journalists is not a solution. It just makes Eritreas position in the international community weaker. If Eritrea became a democracy today, the support of the EU would be tremendous.

Johan,
I am all for Dawit getting justice, unfortunately because of all the negative campaign and other bigger issues, his case is now politicized.
You wrote [Your links say nothing about Dawit, SILC or an international conspiracy]
You will find the definition of conspiracy as : An agreement to perform together an illegal, wrongful, or subversive acts.
It is laughable for you and many to ignore what ever proof one gives you. This is nothing new to Eritreas, we were told the same thing for 30 years.
You might think it is crazy but the fact remains American and European money part of ($3 billion/yr) they give to Ethiopia was used to purchase the huge amount arms.
The sanctions were illegally circumvented at the UN.
http://www.reuters.com/article/worldNews/idUSN0728288520070407
Do you understand how impossible it is for North Korea that is under every kind of sanction to deliver arms bought by funds given to Ethiopia by the US and EU to be deliver via Djibouti (Major American and French base). and for the same arms to end up being sold every where in Somalia ?

Then coercing UN/ AU to blame Eritrea with out a single proof for flooding Somalia with guns ?
http://www.sudantribune.com/spip.php?article31255
Similarly in 2007 the UN monitoring group published the same falsified report that claimed 2000 Eritrean Special forces were dispatched to Somalia before the invasion, yet not a single Eritrean soldier was found dead or alive in Somalian soil.
Not a conspiracy ?
I can give you hundreds of evidence.
Read this article from the Library of congress it might help you to understand what has gone on for the past half a century.

You might ask what has this got to do with Dawit ? Well, believe it or not, not much. He might or might not have done what he is accused of, but he has turned into a cause cé·lè·bre of highlighting the serious, interferences that Eritrea has suffered and is still suffering by so called democratic countries . It is also highlighting the double standards, bias and lack of adherence to the international rule.
We can debate about many things, but I believe international rule of law precedes anything else. If EU and the so called world community want any progress in democratization in Eritrea, they should start with something under their own control, enforce the international rule of law as decided by the ruling in the Hague court of arbitration. I am sure if that happens, every Eritrean will hold the gov responsible for not going to the democratization route as was proposed in the late 90's. In the mean time, there is not point in harking about democratization in Eritrea when the EU as the main witness to the agreement itself can not be bothered to adhering to the rule of law.
You wrote [ If Eritrea became a democracy today, the support of the EU would be tremendous.] I highly doubt it. Is EU's current support to Ethiopia to the tune of billions and the individual govs. such as Sweden's support related to democratization in Ethiopia ?

You're rambling on but still failing to show the conspiracy. Where's the agreement?
And for the last question: Why is it relevant wheter a connection exists or not between two organisations that have nothing to do with Dawit other than one of them fighting for his right to justice. A fight that started because I contacted them and asked for help. Am I part of the conspiracy? That would be exciting!
